Red Hot Bears Head To Philly Friday, Bridgeport Comes To Town Saturday

The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club posted three wins in as many nights last week to improve to 12-5-0-1 in the East Division. With two wins over Philadelphia and a 9-0 win over Binghamton Sunday, the BEARS are just one point off the pace in the East Division.
HERSHEY travels to Philadelphia Friday before hosting the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for the first time in 2008- 09 at GIANT Center Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
Looking fine at nine: The BEARS scored a season-high nine goals Sunday in a 9-0 shutout win over the Binghamton Senators. All but five skaters recorded at least one point, with center Keith Aucoin leading the way with a goal and four assists. The line of Aucoin, Alexandre Giroux and Graham Mink combined for 13 points Sunday in the win over the Senators.
Nice time to make your debut: Defenseman Josh Godfrey, who was recalled from South Carolina Saturday afternoon, made his HERSHEY home debut Sunday against Binghamton. Godfrey led all skaters Sunday in plus/minus, registering a plus five rating for the game. Godfrey also chipped in with two assists in the game.
Chasing the Tigers: The BEARS have the second best point total in the American Hockey League entering the new week, but the one team that has more resides in the East Division. Bridgeport has the AHL's best mark with 26 points after a 3-2 shootout win in Houston on Sunday.
Upcoming promotions-Dan's Auto Body night is this Saturday, November 22 when the BEARS host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a free ice scraper, courtesy of Dan's Auto Body.
Washington update-At 10-4-3, the Capitals lead the Southeast Division race by three points over the second place Carolina Hurricanes. Washington heads west on a long road trip this week, starting with a road tilt in Anaheim Wednesday night. The Caps play in Los Angeles against the Kings Thursday and in San Jose against the Sharks this Saturday night as part of a four- game road trip that ends in Minnesota next week.
