Amerks Home Twice This Week

(Rochester, NY)... After playing three games in three nights, the Rochester Americans will get set for two home games this week, as they host the Toronto Marlies and Manchester Monarchs.

Rochester's pair of games kicks off Wednesday, November 19th as the Toronto Marlies make their second of four stops to The Blue Cross Arena this season. The contest will be the second of eight scheduled meetings between the two teams this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. Faceoff for the non-divisional matchup is slated for 7:05 p.m.

Rochester is 0-1-0-0 this season and 10-16-6 all-time against the Toronto Maple Leafs' affiliate. Toronto presently sits one place above the Amerks in the North Division standings at 6th place with a 4-7-0-2 record and 10 points overall.

That evening, the Amerks will host a clevermethod business persons' special night, as fans can turn in their business cards at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office and receive any 100-premium seat for just $10.00. The offer is valid for all Amerks home games Monday through Thursday. It is also a RARES Night where all RARES members can bring their RARES ID card or business card to the box office to get a $22.25 ticket for $10.00.

The Amerks' week continues as the team hosts the Atlantic Division opponent of the Manchester Monarchs on Friday, November 21st. Faceoff for the game is scheduled for a 7:35 p.m. start. The game will be carried live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. Rochester will play the Monarchs in the first time of two meetings this season. The Amerks are 3-1-0 lifetime against Manchester. The Monarchs are currently in seventh place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 3-6-0-3 with nine points.

The Friday night event will host two Olympic Fencers: Iris Zimmerman and Hannah Thompson of the 2008 Olympic Games. Fans can get autographs from the Olympians and they will perform a fencing demonstration at the game. Friday will also include the first Wendy's Buy One Get One Coupon Night as anyone can pick up a voucher for this promotion at participating Wendy's locations.

The Amerks (2-13-0-1, five points) enter the week after suffering three losses in three nights to the Chicago Wolves and the Hamilton Bulldogs. Rochester began the weekend at home, falling short to the Wolves 3-2 in a shootout. It was the first shootout for the Amerks this season. Michal Repik scored his third goal of the season as Stephan Meyer notched his second of the year. Goalie Chris Beckford-Tseu notched 32 saves to keep the teams tied at the end of overtime. The Amerks continued the rest of the weekend in Hamilton where they suffered two more losses with scores of 4-3 and 5-2. Janis Sprukts led the team in points with four points (1+3).

This season, Michael Duco leads the team with goals (five) as well as the team in penalty minutes and sits third in the league in that category. Defenseman Jordan Henry continues to lead the team with a plus-minus rating of plus-three.

Rochester returns to the road Wednesday, November 26th as they will play four games in five nights. They start by taking on Toronto for an 11:30 a.m. game. They will be back to the Blue Cross Arena to host the Lake Erie Monsters November 28th at 7:35 p.m. and will then head to Grand Rapids on Saturday, November 28th and to Toronto again to finish out the weekend on Sunday, November 29th.
