Amerks Faceoff Against Manitoba Tonight At The Blue Cross Arena

Tonight, the Rochester Americans remain at home for the fifth game of their current season-long six-game homestand as the Manitoba Moose make their return The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:05 p.m. North Division contest will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.

Promotions: The game falls on clevermethod Business Persons' Special Night. Fans can turn in their business cards at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office and receive any 100-premium seat for just $10.00. Head-to-Head: The matchup marks the fourth of eight scheduled meetings between the divisional rivals this season and the second in three nights. The Amerks are still in search for their first win against the Moose this season, falling in the first three encounters with the Vancouver Canucks' affiliate. Rochester is 0-3-0-0 this season and 15-23-1 lifetime against Manitoba.

Amerks Notes: The Amerks (2-10-0-0, 4 points) enter the contest coming off a 3-2 victory over the Houston Aeros Saturday night at The Blue Cross Arena. The win was Rochester's second of the season and first since October 24th, snapping a five-game losing streak. Three different goal scorers in Stefan Meyer, Kenndal McArdle and Shawn Matthias found the back of the net to pilot Rochester's offense. Chris Beckford-Tseu earned his second win of the season with a 17-save performance over Houston to garner third star honors. In nine games between the pipes for the Amerks this season, the veteran netminder has recorded a 4.00 goals-against average and a .858 save percentage, while turning away 194 saves. McArdle's goal Saturday night extended his point streak to five games (2+3) and now sits atop the team points column with eight (3+5) on the young season. First-year defenseman Jason Garrison shares the team lead with five assists while his six points (1+5) ties him for third on the team. Karl Stewart has found the back of the net a team-high four times this season and sits in a third-place tie with five points (4+1) overall. Rochester's Michael Duco is second in the league and first on the team with 76 penalty minutes (PIM) with McArdle a distant second with 43 PIM for second on the team and 16th in the league, respectively.

Manitoba Notes: Manitoba (9-3-0-0, 18 points), playing the final game of a seven-game road swing, approaches the contest after suffering a 6-3 loss to the Syracuse Crunch Saturday night at the War Memorial at Oncenter. The loss ended a nine-game winning streak for the Moose, the longest of the season. The loss was also just the third of the season for Manitoba and the first since their second game of the 2008-09 American Hockey League season. Jason Jaffray (4+5) and Mark Cullen (3+6) each share the team lead with nine points apiece, while Jason Krog has a team best seven assists in only six games. Second-year goaltender Cory Schneider is among the elite in terms of AHL netminders this season. His 1.25 goals-against average and seven wins currently ranks him first and tied for second among league goaltenders, respectively. Further, his .945 save percentage is also good enough for second. Krog has now collected a point in all six game's he's played in and Schneider is presently enjoying a six-game winning streak.

Next Game: Rochester completes its homestand on Friday, November 14th as the defending Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves make their first and only visit this season to The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live.
