Kane County Cougars News Release
GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Oakland Athletics, have announced that outfielder Michael Lissman has been transferred to the Short-A Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest League. The latest roster move takes the Cougars down to 23 active players as the squad continues a homestand tonight against the Burlington Bees.
Lissman (FA, 2007) was part of the Cougars' Opening Day roster this past April but had seen a decrease in playing time of late. After playing in 24 of 25 games for the Cougars in April, Lissman appeared in just 16 of 29 games in May and 11 of 26 games in June. So far this season, Lissman is batting .203 with 2 home runs and 13 RBIs.
Kane County (6-8), winners of its first two games this homestand, continues the four-game set against the Bees this evening at 6 p.m. Cougars pitcher Chad Kerfoot (3-1, 2.90) has made 33 relief appearances as an A's farmhand since being drafted in 2007, but the righty makes his first organizational start tonight and will face Burlington's Danny Duffy (4-3, 3.43).
