Dayton Dragons News Release
Midland, Mich.-Francisco Lizarraga lined a base hit to center field to bring in Jovanny Rosario from second base with the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Great Lakes Loons defeated the Dayton Dragons 2-1 in the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday. The Loons also won game one 2-1.
Rosario walked with one out in the bottom of the seventh and stole second. One batter later, Arias struck out Alfredo Silverio, but Lizarraga followed with a base hit to give the Loons their second "walk-off" win of the doubleheader. Their game one victory came in the bottom of the ninth of a scheduled seven inning game.
The Loons collected just two hits in the game but limited the Dragons to only two runs in the doubleheader over 16 innings.
Dayton took a 1-0 lead in the fifth when Angel Cabrera doubled with two outs and scored on Kevyn Feiner's single.
Great Lakes tied the game in the sixth when Silverio homered leading off the inning. It was the first hit of the game for the Loons.
The Dragons meet the Loons on Friday at 3:05 p.m. Daniel Guerrero (0-1, 11.37) will start for Dayton.
