West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
COMSTOCK PARK - Joe Tucker lined an opposite field single to right with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in Justin Henry with the winning run in a 1-0 victory over Fort Wayne in the first game of a double header. Henry bunted for a single with one out to start the rally. Audy Ciriaco followed with a base hit to put Henry in scoring position. The winning run was just the third this season allowed by Wizards reliever Bryan Oland, who fell to 1-1. Jon Kibler pitched six shutout innings for West Michigan and was relieved by Wilton Garcia who tossed a perfect top of the seventh to record the win. Fort Wayne starter Jeremy Hefner struck out eight in five innings on the mound. Dylan Axlerod went just two-thirds of an inning and left with the bases loaded and two out in the sixth but Oland worked out of the jam.
