Desmond Placed on DL; Bynum Up from Potomac

Harrisburg, PA - Harrisburg Senators INF Ian Desmond was placed on the Disabled List on Wednesday. INF Seth Bynum was transferred from Potomac to fill his roster spot. The Senators also announced C Pat Nichols was transferred to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

Desmond, 22, was hitting .246 at the time of his injury. He has five doubles, six home runs and 21 RBIs this season.

Bynum, 27, returns to Harrisburg for the third straight season. For Potomac this year, he hit .261 with six home runs. Bynum played 66 games for the Senators last year, batting .231 with six homers. He played 72 games in Harrisburg in 2006. Bynum is a University of Indiana product.

The moves leave Harrisburg with 23 players on the active roster. Eastern League rules allow 24 active players.
