ALTOONA- Altoona Curve outfielder James Boone has been named the Bank of America Eastern League Player of the Week for the week ending April 21. The switch-hitter posted a .524 average (11-for-21) with two doubles, four home runs, six RBI and eight runs scored in six games during the week.

Among the highlights of Boone's impressive week was a two-homer performance in Friday's game vs. Erie, which included just the fourth inside-the-park home run in Curve history. He also smacked the eventual game-winning homer -- a two-run shot -- in the 7th inning of Saturday's 3-2 win over the SeaWolves. Through 16 games, Boone is hitting .327 (18x55) with five homers and nine RBI and has a .449 on-base percentage. He has also reached base safely in 15 of 16 contests.

Boone, who is in his first season at the Double-A level, was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 3rd round of the 2005 June Draft out of the University of Missouri. The 25-year old is a native of Clinton, OK.

The Curve will continue their seven-day homestand Monday evening at Blair County Ballpark with the opener of a three-game set against the Akron Aeros (AA/Cleveland Indians). First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. Tickets are available and can be purchased through the Curve Box Office by calling (877) 99-CURVE. Seats can also be purchased on-line at AltoonaCurve.com.
