River Cats Fall to Beavers in 10

West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats fell to the Portland Beavers, 9-6 at Raley Field on Monday night. The River Cats trailed the game, 6-0, after 5 innings, when Keith Ginter's lead-off home run sparked a 4-run rally to bring the Cats back within striking distance. Two innings later, in the bottom of the 8th, RBI singles by John Baker and Keith Ginter tied the game. The scored remained tied through nine innings, until Portland scored 3 runs in the top of the 10th off Sacramento reliever Jason Karnuth to seal the victory. It was the River Cats' first extra-inning game of the season. Keith Ginter (3-for-5, HR, R, 2 RBI) and Mike Rouse (3-for-5, 2B, R, RBI) led the Cats offense on the night and Sacramento reliever Tim Rall pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings in his Raley Field.
