The Round Rock Express scored five runs in the third inning on Tuesday to open a commanding lead on the way to a 7-4 win over the Oklahoma RedHawks at The Dell Diamond.

The loss is Oklahoma's fourth straight and drops the RedHawks 9-16. It's the first time in franchise history the RedHawks have been seven games below .500. Round Rock has won four straight and seven of eight to improve to 13-10.

Oklahoma starter John Hudgins (1-1) lasted just three innings, allowing six runs on five hits. He allowed solo homers to Charlton Jimerson (in the first inning) and Brian Gordon, Gordon's capping a five-run third that also included a three-run double by Brooks Conrad.

The RedHawks chased Express starter Philip Barzilla after a three-run fourth inning that featured RBIs from Nick Trzesniak, Vincent Sinisi and Jace Brewer. Reliever Chris Baker (2-0), who started the season with the RedHawks, tossed four scoreless innings to earn the win.

Game three of the series is Wednesday at 12:05 p.m. CDT at The Dell Diamond with lefty John Rheinecker due to face right-hander Jason Hirsh.
