Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento – The Sacramento River Cats fell to the Tucson Sidewinders, 4-2, in 10 innings at Raley Field on Saturday night. Tucson scored two runs in the extra frame on a one out, bases-loaded throwing error by Bobby Smith that scored Sergio Santos and Craig Ansman. Sacramento was retired in order in the bottom of the inning to preserve the 4-2 win for Tucson. The error was the team leading 5th of the season for the Cats, who drop to 11-12, and 2 games back of 1st place Tucson, on the young season. Sacramento centerfielder Shawn Garrett's RBI double in the bottom of the 8th scored Matt Watson to force the extra inning. Sacramento and Tucson square off again tomorrow, with RHP Seth Etherton (0-1, 1.88) going for the River Cats against the Sidewinders' LHP Mike Gosling (0-0, 4.50) as the River Cats go for a 2-2 series split.
