SOX WIN GAME 1, 8-4

The Sox scored all their eight runs in the fifth inning to take Game 1 of today's doubleheader. A two-run home run by Danny Ardoin (1-for-2) started the inning explosion, and a three-run home run by Ryan Shealy (1-for-3) capped the sixth. Mike Esposito (1-1) got the win, his first in Triple-A, while Justin Germano (1-2) got the loss. The Sox are set to take field and begin Game 2 at 3:40 p.m. Denny Stark (0-0, 0.00) gets the start for the Sox and Tim Stauffer (2-0, 2.14) goes for the Beavers.

SOX SWEEP DOUBLEHEADER, 12-5

Sox scored 10 runs in final two innings to win second game of the doubleheader. David Cortes got the win in relief of Denny Stark. Portland's Randy Williams (1-1) got the loss after allowing six runs to score in only a third of an inning pitched. Ryan Shealy provided the offense, going 4-for-4 with five RBI and a majestic bomb in the sixth to put the Sox on-top for good.
