(ROUND ROCK, TX) – The Oklahoma RedHawks came into the series with the Round Rock Express as the second leading hitting team in the Pacific Coast League. For the first three games, Express pitchers silenced the Oklahoma bats. Not on Sunday as Oklahoma defeated Round 9-3 in the final game of the four game home series.

Round Rock took the early lead with two outs in the bottom of the first as LF Lance Berkman, in his second rehab game for the Express drilled a single. Mike Coolbaugh followed with a two run blast to left, his fifth homer of the home stand, followed by a solo shot off the bat of 1B Carlos Rivera and Round Rock led 3-0 behind right-hander Taylor Buchholz.

The RedHawks made up a run with a solo, Ian Kinsler homer off Bucholz leading off the third. They tied it on a two run shot to right by CF Jason Conti and that tied the game at 3-3.

But then in the 7th inning, with Jeremy Griffiths on in relief of Buchholz, Oklahoma pounded out five runs on five hits and took a lead they never surrendered 8-3. The RedHawks added another run in the ninth and won it 9-3.

The Express head out tomorrow on an eight game road trip to New Orleans and Oklahoma City. First game in New Orleans starts Monday at 7:05 PM at Zephyr Field. The Express will return to The Dell Diamond to face the Tacoma Raniers on May 10th.
