
Leinweber Finally Makes Way to Johnstown; Levesque Recalled to Cleveland

Johnstown, PA- Johnstown Chiefs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Toby O'Brien announced today that the AHL's Binghamton Senators have re-assigned defenseman Chris Leinweber (LINE-web-er) to the team. In another move, the Cleveland Barons recalled left wing Willie Levesque.
Leinweber, 22, began the season with the AHL's Binghamton Senators playing in five scoreless games. Prior to this season, the 5'11, 185 LBS native of Calgary, Alberta played collegiate hockey at the University of North Dakota where he was a team mate of Chiefs leading scorer Jason Notermann. Leinweber was originally signed by the Chiefs back on August 28th.
In 130 career games with North Dakota, Leinweber had two goals and twenty points. He was a member of North Dakota's 2000 NCAA championship team and NCAA runner-up team in 2001. Prior to joining North Dakota, Leinweber played his junior hockey with the Calgary Canucks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League where he was named Defensive player of the Year and Player of the Year in 1997.
Levesque, 23, has appeared in 30 games for the Chiefs this season scoring five goals and eleven points. He leads the team with a +6 rating. The native of Oak Bluffs, MA has played in two scoreless games with the Barons earlier this season. Levesque was a 4th round draft pick (111th overall) of the San Jose Sharks in 1999.
Leinweber will be in the Chiefs lineup Friday night when they visit the Peoria Rivermen. Levesque will be available for the Barons game, Friday night at Rochester.
The Chiefs are back in action Friday and Saturday night when they visit the Peoria Rivermen. Both games are at 8:05 p.m. They Chiefs return home Friday, January 23rd when they host the Roanoke Express and Saturday, January 24th against the Reading Royals.
