Etienne Beaudry Will Participate In Mr. Manatees Alumni Game

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots, under the new ownership group of Hockey Enterprises of Pensacola L.L.C. with owner Tim Kerr, announced that former Ice Pilots player Etienne Beaudry will participate in the Mr. Manatee's Alumni Game on Friday, March 5 at 6:05 p.m. to be played before the Ice Pilots original home game vs. San Diego at 8:05 p.m.

Beaudry played for the Ice Pilots during the 1997-98 regular season and also during the 1998-99 season only to have his career shortened when he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Beaudry played in a total of 94 regular season games with the Ice Pilots scoring 16 goals, 26 assists for 42 points and picked up 61 penalty minutes.

The Ice Pilots traded Beaudry to the Richmond Renegades on March 3, 1998 but was re- acquired by the Ice Pilots from Richmond in a trade on June 23, 1998. He played his junior hockey with Sherbrooke of the QMJHL from 1992-1996 with his best year during the 1995-96 season scoring 55 goals, 85 assists for 140 points and picking up 55 penalty minutes in 70 games played.

Beaudry, who is 28 years old, has been cancer free for the last four years and is currently working as an electrician in Montreal, Quebec. Fans can listen to an interview with Beaudry on www.icepilots.com and also during the Southern Ford Dealers intermission report on the Ice Pilots broadcast on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network this Friday night vs. Mississippi beginning at 7:05 p.m.

Beaudry will join former players Nick Stajduhar, Shane Calder, Chad Quenneville, Kelly Hultgren, Scott Malone, Andrew Rodgers, Scott LaGrand and former Head Coach Al Pedersen and former Assistant Coach George Kozak in the Mr. Manatee's Alumni Game. There will be members of the Jr. Ice Pilots, Senior League and representa! tives from the local media who will also participate in the game.

The Alumni players will be wearing special old timer sweaters during the "Mr. Manatee's Alumni Game" and the original Ice Pilots players will also be wearing the special old timer sweaters sponsored by Mr. Manatee's during the game vs. San Diego at 8:05 p.m.

The old timer sweaters will be auctioned off after the game vs. San Diego at "The Hangar" with proceeds going to the Florida Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and the Children's Home Society.

The Ice Pilots play home to Mississippi this Friday night at 7:05 p.m. and play home to the Columbia Inferno on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. It is Ladies Night and Avon Night on Saturday night. A Ladies Expo starts at 5:30 p.m. Ladies can register to win three Avon makeovers and dinner with an Ice Pilots player. Prizes will be given away during the game including free massages.
