New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The visiting New Orleans Zephyrs snapped a three game losing streak on Thursday afternoon defeating the Omaha Royals 7-3 at Rosenblatt Stadium. Brendan Harris drilled four hits and scored three runs to lead the Zephyr offensive attack. Four New Orleans pitchers worked and David Gil pitched three innings in relief to earn his second win of the season. Anastacio Martinez was activated from the disabled list and started the game pitching four innings and allowed one run. Jason Bergmann pitched the final inning and a third to earn the save. The Zephyrs trail the series two games to one. The series finale is Friday night in Omaha.
Game Notes: The Zephyrs will attempt to get a split in Omaha on Friday, the Zephyrs have played 13 series this season and have won 8 and lost 5 but have not split any. Pitchers Dan Foli and Devin Perrin have been assigned to Class AA Harrisburg. Roy Corcoran re-joined the Zephyrs on Thursday.
