PORTLAND, Ore. - Mario Ramos turned in four sharp innings in a spot start and combined with three Portland relievers on a six-hit, 3-0 shutout over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Thursday night at PGE Park.

Ramos, making his first start in a month, allowed three hits over four innings of work before turning it over to Ryan Meaux, who returned to the Beavers earlier in the day after a recent stint with Class AA Mobile. Cla Meredith (2-0) retired all six batters he faced for the win, while Jason Anderson came on in the ninth for his second save and send the Sky Sox (21-33) to their ninth shutout loss of the season.

Paul McAnulty doubled twice and Justin Leone was 2-for-3 with an RBI double to lead the Beavers (29-24), who logged their fourth shutout of the year.

In the first, Manny Alexander walked, McAnulty doubled and the Beavers took the early lead on Ben Johnson's sacrifice fly to center.

The Beavers added to their lead in the fourth as Leone drove in Jon Knott with a double and later scored from third on Bobby Hill's fielder's choice groundout.

Jose Acevedo (0-4) lost for the fourth time in as many starts for Colorado Springs, allowing three runs over six innings.
