Travis Metcalf dribbled a seeing eye single into centerfield in the tenth inning to give the Oklahoma City Redhawks a come from behind 4-3 win on Thursday night at Bricktown. The Z's lose the final road game of the season, and the final game of the historic 15 game road trip. New Orleans finished the trip 7-8.
The Z's opened the game with a leadoff triple by John Raynor and he scored on a sacrifice fly. Max Ramirez smoked a home run to tie the game in the bottom of the second. The Z's pushed two runs across the plate in the seventh inning with RBI's from Raynor and Lee Mitchell.
The Redhawks trailed 3-1 in the eighth and rallied to tie the game with a walk, two hits and a pair of sacrifice fly balls. Oklahoma City wins the game in the tenth inning after a lead off walk, another walk and then the game wining hit by Metcalf.
Josh Rupe pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win and Chris Mobley is the losing pitcher for the Zephyrs.
Game Notes: Brett Sinkbeil suffered his second blown save of the season and snapped a streak of 8 innings without allowing a run. The Marlins promoted Andy Gonzalez before the game on Thursday. New Orleans falls to 6-9 in extra innings this season.
Coming Up: The Zephyrs return home from a 13-day road trip on Friday. The Z's will host the Nashville Sounds in the final home series of the year. The Z's will start RH Clay Hensley (7-4, 3.42) against LH Chris Cody (8-7, 4.77)
