ZOOperstars and Action Figurine Giveaway Highlight Huge Weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - After Monday's road game in Las Vegas, the Bakersfield Condors return to the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena for three home games this week. The Condors take the ice on Wednesday against the Idaho Steelheads, Friday vs. the Alaska Aces and Saturday against the Steelheads again. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the puck drops at 7 p.m. all three games.

Wednesday vs. Idaho Steelheads - High School and College ID Night: The Condors take on the Idaho Steelheads for High School and College ID Night, sponsored by My 45 and 106.1 KRAB Radio. High school and college students can purchase $1 lower-bowl admission (while seats last) by presenting their student ID at the Rabobank Arena box office. Friday vs. Alaska Aces - Action Figurine Giveaway: The Condors will battle the Alaska Aces on Action Figurine Giveaway Night, sponsored by Bright House Networks and Farmers Insurance. You're never too old to play with an action figurine, as the first 3,000 fans, 5-and-older, will receive a Condors goalie action figurine.

Friday Night is also a Bright House Networks Family Night, and all Bright Housesubscribers receive $7 admission per person by presenting their cable bill to at the box office when purchasing tickets

Saturday vs. Idaho Steelheads - See the ZOOperstars: On Saturday night, the Condors play the Steelheads, and the ZOOperstars come to town. The ZOOperstars, a top 20 finisher on last season's hit TV show, "America's Got Talent," are 10-foot tall animal caricatures of famous sports stars, such as Alex Frogriguez, Nomar Garciaparrot, LeBronco James, Mackerel Jordan, Mario Lemule, and Donovan McCrabb. The ZOOperstars, will be performing on the ice during the first and second intermission and will play around with fans in the stands during the game, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, 101.5 KGFM and Mercy & Memorial Hospitals.

Also, everyone in attendance will receive a Condors action poster featuring Dave Bonk, Chris Kaufman, Jay Langager, Chad Painchaud and Matt Pope. Saturday is also a Mercy & Memorial Hospitals and Diamond Technologies T.H.I.N.K. Night, during which students at participating schools who met academic goals will earn free admission to the game by presenting their T.H.I.N.K. voucher at the box office window.

Saturday night's game will be televised live on Bright House Networks Ch. 21. All televised games will be available on Bakersfield On Demand Cable Ch. 300, starting the following day.

Intermission Fun: During the first intermission on Wednesday, the January Kern Trophies Player of the Month will be presented to a Condors player. Afterwards, a United States Army Swearing-In Ceremony will take place from center ice, as Bakersfield locals take their oaths of honor to protect their country.

On Friday, during the first intermission, fans that love to see bone-crunching hits on the ice will enjoy Cheapsk8tr.com's Mascot Slingshot - watch Colonel Claw'd and Baby Cal be hurled across the ice by a 40-foot slingshot and smash into the boards, as they try to knock down pins to win a Cheapsk8r.com skate board for one lucky fan.

During the second intermission, one lucky fan will be able to Shoot the Puck, Win the Truck, for the Condors one-of-a-kind 2008 Chevy Silverado, complete with Condors customizations on the interior and exterior, courtesy of 3-Way Chevrolet. If that contestant doesn't win, then one fan will be drawn at random to win the truck if a Condors player scores a hat trick (3 goals) all in the third period.

For Saturday's game, in addition to the ZOOperstars shenanigans during the intermissions, the Chuck-A-Puck grand total may be up to a season high $450, if no one wins at Wednesday or Friday's games.

Prior to Saturday night's game, the Condors will hold their annual Guns & Hoses game at Rabobank Arena. Local law enforcement officers and firefighters will hit the ice on Saturday at 3 p.m. to raise funds for charity. Tickets for Saturday night's game will also serve as admission to the Guns & Hoses game.

Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322-2525, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com, or at any Ticketmaster location. The Rabobank Arena Box Office will be open Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended hours on game days.
