
Zink Picks Up Seventh Win as Sea Dogs Roll

(Manchester, NH) - Charlie Zink (7-2) earned his 20th career win with the Sea Dogs and Portland smacked two more home runs, defeating the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 8-3 on Sunday afternoon at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.
Zink earned his second win of the roadtrip, hurling six innings on two runs, five hits, three walks and no strikeouts. The knuckleballer is now tied with Chris Smith for the most wins in franchise history since Portland became a Red Sox affiliate in 2003.
Kurt Isenberg (2-4) suffered the loss for the New Hampshire, allowing eight hits and five runs in 5+ innings.
Kyle Jackson notched his third Double-A save with three innings of work on two hits, one run and two strikeouts.
Portland continued with the long ball, crushing two home runs and improving their total to 18 this month. Andrew Pinckney began the scoring with a leadoff home run in the fourth inning. Pinckney homered to begin the fourth on Saturday night and has five homers this season.
In the fifth inning, Jeff Natale crushed a two-out, 2-run shot down the left field line, giving the âDogs a 3-0 lead. Portland chased Isenberg out of the game in the sixth inning on John Otness' RBI single with the bases loaded, giving Portland a 4-0 advantage. Iggy Suarez added an RBI double in the fifth inning - his 14th run knocked in this season.
New Hampshire rallied back against Zink in their half of the sixth inning. Rob Cosby and Chip Cannon produced run-scoring singles for the Fisher Cats but Portland came right back in the top of the seventh inning, receiving a bases-clearing double by Eric Crozier.
Crozier has batted eighth in all three games of the series, going 7-for-14 (.500), 3 HR and 9 RBI.
The Sea Dogs improved to 6-4 on the season against New Hampshire and 4-3 on their 8-game roadtrip.
On Monday night, Clay Buchholz (5-2, 1.85) makes his 14th start of the season for the Sea Dogs and his second at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. Lefty Ricky Romero (0-1, 4.42) gets the starting nod for New Hampshire.

Notes...Portland has at least 11 hits in four straight games on the trip...The top two hitters (Corsaletti and Lowrie) went a combined 0-for-9, HBP and a run scored...Sunday's crowd of 7,837 was the third largest at Merchantsauto.com Stadium...The Sea Dogs scored 5 of 8 runs with 2-outs and have hit .432 (16-for-37) with runners-in-scoring position this series...Natale has hit both of his home runs on the road.
