
Zephyrs nip Redbirds, 7-6

New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The New Orleans Zephyrs beat the Memphis Redbirds by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday.
With the Zephyrs down 2-1 in the sixth inning, Memphis starter Chris Narverson walked in the tying run. The next batter, first baseman Jason Alfaro hit a grand slam to give the Zephyrs the lead for good.
Right fielder Lastings Milledge had a big day, going 4-4 with a solo homer and three runs scored.
Center fielder Carlos Gomez went 1-4 and continued his hitting streak, now at 14 games.
Zephyrs starter Jorge Sosa (2-0) gets the win for the Zephyrs. Sosa went six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits.
Narverson (1-1) gets the loss for the Redbirds. He gave up six rins on seven hits in six innings of play.
With the Zephyrs out to a 2-0 lead in the series, the teams will face off again on Thursday in a 7:00 PM CT contest.
