Nashville Sounds News Release

NASHVILLE - The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium on Saturday night to open a four-game series against the division-rival Iowa Cubs (AAA-Cubs). The teams are currently tied for first place in the PCL American Conference Northern Division.

The Sounds begin the homestand with Saturday's 6 p.m. opener against the Chicago Cubs' Triple-A affiliate. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and the first 2,000 fans will receive a free Sounds "Art of Baseball" calendar featuring monthly-themed artwork submitted by area schoolchildren, courtesy of First Tennessee.

Saturday is also Donor Night at Greer Stadium. Fans receive a "buy one, get one free" ticket offer, courtesy of Tennessee Donor Services, when they present a driver's license with a signed donor pledge. A table will be set up on the concourse providing information on organ donation and a donation recipient will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

In Saturday night's game, Sounds players will wear Milwaukee Brewers jerseys in honor of our Major League affiliate. The special jerseys will be available for purchase by fans via an in-game silent auction. All proceeds will be donated to the charitable efforts of the Nashville Sounds Foundation.

Following Saturday's game, Sounds fans are invited to stay for the first of 20 postgame fireworks shows to be held during the 2007 season. The popular pyrotechnics display is presented by Your Select Buick-Pontiac-GMC Dealers.

Sunday's 2 p.m. game is Scout Day at Greer Stadium. Local Boy Scout troops and Cub Scout packs are invited to the game and will be announced over the P.A. system during the contest. Every Sunday home game during the 2007 season is Purity Sundae Sunday; Sounds fans can enjoy a Purity ice cream sundae for just one dollar all game long. Gates open at 12:30 p.m.

The series continues with Monday's 6 p.m. contest between Nashville and Iowa. It will be H.G. Hill Monday at Greer Stadium, when all Sounds fans have the opportunity to show an H.G. Hill receipt at the box office and receive a "buy one, get one free" offer good for up to four tickets. Monday is also Dollar Dog Night; hot dogs are one dollar at all concession stands throughout the stadium.

The homestand concludes with a 10:30 a.m. morning contest on Tuesday. Over 6,500 children will pack Greer Stadium as more than 50 area schools will take field trips to the ballpark as a reward for students' completion of their reading goals as part of the successful Nashville Sounds Reading Club program. All program participants who have met their reading goals receive a free ticket to the game and will be recognized for their accomplishments during a pre-game, on-field parade.

Following the homestand, the Sounds join the remainder of the Pacific Coast League with an off day on Wednesday then travel to Omaha to begin an eight-game road trip that includes divisional contests against the Royals and Iowa Cubs. Baseball returns to Greer Stadium on Friday, May 4, when the Sounds host the Round Rock Express (AAA-Astros).

Individual and season tickets, as well as group packages, are currently on sale. Call (615) 242-4371 ext. 2 or visit the Sounds' website at www.nashvillesounds.com to order or for more information.
