
Zephyrs Fall in Series Finale 5-3

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - Jonathan Villar had a pair of hits including a home run as the Redhawks defeated the Zephyrs 5-3 on Sunday afternoon to win the series three games to one.
The Redhawks managed to score the games' first run without the benefit of a hit. Trevor Crowe was hit by a pitch, advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Crowe moved to third on an infield groundout and scored on a Jimmy Paredes groundout.
The Z's answered with an Ed Lucas solo home run in the fourth inning. Parades led off the bottom of the fourth with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly. The Redhawks tacked on two more runs in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 4-1.
The Zephyrs outhit the Redhawks 9-7 and threatened on several occasions but came up short. Brett Oberholtzer pitched five innings and earned the win. Jacob Turner pitched six innings allowed four runs, three earned in the defeat.
Jose Valdez worked the ninth inning for his sixth save of the season.
Game Notes - The Z's dropped five of eight on the roadtrip. The offense is batting .212 in the skid scoring four runs. Kevin Mattison extended his hitting streak to 8 games.
