WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif.. - The River Cats capitalized on home runs from Michael Taylor and Jemile Weeks on Sunday afternoon, running away with a 7-2 victory and a four-game series sweep over the Salt Lake Bees at Raley Field.

Each of the first seven hitters in Sacramento's lineup recorded at least one hit Sunday, helping stake the Cats a 2-0 lead in a game they would never trail. After the Bees scraped across a run in the fourth, Taylor would answer with a three-run homer in the fifth-his fifth home run of the year and second in as many nights-to give the Cats a 5-1 cushion. Weeks added a two-run blast to the right-field berm in the eighth, extending the lead to 7-2 and ensuring the River Cats their second series sweep of the season.

Bruce Billings (1-1) was dominant in his third start of the year, holding Salt Lake to just three hits and one run in six innings. Billings struck out five without issuing a walk and threw 54 of his 73 pitches for strikes. Mike Ekstrom tossed a scoreless seventh, while Dan Otero tossed two shutout frames to pick up his sixth save in as many chances.

Scott Moore finished the afternoon 2-for-2 with a double and a sacrifice fly, and Daric Barton doubled and drove in his 18th run of the season.

Bees starter Matt Shoemaker (1-4) was tagged with the loss, giving up five runs-all earned-on eight hits. He walked two and struck out four.

The River Cats hit the road for a four-game set at Fresno's Chukchansi Park beginning Monday night at 7:05 p.m., with Sacramento LHP Justin Thomas (0-2, 3.32 ERA) set to oppose Fresno right-hander and former River Cat Boof Bonser (1-1, 4.19 ERA). The Cats return home for a four-game series against the Las Vegas 51s on Friday, May 3, at Raley Field.
