
Zephyrs Add Three to Roster

New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Metairie, LA â The New Orleans Zephyrs, the Class AAA Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Houston Astros are pleased to announce that pitchers Mike Venafro and Eric Cammack and infielder Carlos Hernandez have been added to the roster.
Venafro, 29 from Fort Myers, FL., was signed as a free agent by Houston on July 4th and assigned to the Zephyrs. He was 1-0 with a 4.74 ERA(10ER/19.0IP) in 24 appearances for Tampa Bay this season.
Cammack, 27 from Port Naches, TX., was promoted from Class AA Round Rock where he went 0-0 with 3 saves with a 0.59 ERA (1ER/15.1 IP) in 13 appearances for the Express.
Former Zephyr Hernandez, 27 from Caracus, VZ., was isgned by Hosuton as a free agent on July 5th and assigned to the Zephyrs. He batted .208(45x216) with one home run and 14 RBI in 73 games for Fresno this season.
The Zephyrs open a three game series with the Nashville Sounds on Monday at 7:05 PM in Nashville, The Sounds lead the Z's by 1 ½ games in the PCL Eastern Division. The game can be heard on WTIX-AM 690 and at www.zephyrsbaseball.com with Tim Grubbs calling the action.
