Round Rock Express News Release

Monday's game seemed like any other for the Round Rock Express this year. A variety of missed opportunities and one bad inning threatened to send the Express to yet another loss. However, something happened on the way to that "loss."

Round Rock staged its most remarkable comeback of the year – possibly one of its most remarkable ever – to shock the Midland RockHounds, 6-5. With two outs and two strikes on him in the bottom of the ninth, Michael Rosamond tripled over the head of centerfielder Steve Stanley to drive in the winning runs and cap the biggest and possibly most important inning of the year.

"Early in the season, we were getting behind and getting down and hanging it up, but tonight we came back," Rosamond said. "We know we're a better team now."

Down 5-2 in the ninth, Bert Snow got the first two outs of the inning quickly. Then, John Tamargo and Tommy Whiteman walked to keep the Express in the game and the crowd of 9,396 in their seats. An Anthony Acevedo single scored one to bring the crowd to their feet and Jacques Landry drove in another to bring the fans to a frenzy. That set up Rosamond's heroics. Shane Bazzell came in and got two quick strikes and tried to get Rosamond out with pitches on the outside part of the plate. One mistake, though, sent the ball deep to the wall, the crowd home ecstatic, and the Express to 10-9 in the second half.

Tim McClaskey (2-0) got the win after throwing three perfect innings in relief. Bazzell (3-6) took the loss.

The four-game series will conclude Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.
