
Zephyrs Add Cole to Roster

Metairie, LA â The New Orleans Zephyrs, the Class AAA Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Houston Astros are pleased to announce former Zephyr Eric Cole has been promoted from Class AA Round Rock and has been added to the roster. To make room on the roster for Cole, pitcher Nate Bland has been placed on the disabled list
Cole, 27 from Boulder City, NV, batted .272 (82x302) with 6 HR, 32 RBI and 17 SB in 79 games for the Express this season. Bland was placed on the disabled list with a sore elbow and was to be examined by Astros team doctors today. Outfielder Jason Lane has flown to Massachusetts to be examined by a specialist for his abdominal injury.
The Zephyrs continue a three game series with the Nashville Sounds on Tuesday at 7:05 PM in Nashville, The Sounds lead the Z's by 2 ½ games in the PCL Eastern Division. The game can be heard on WTIX-AM 690 and at www.zephyrsbaseball.com with Tim Grubbs calling the action.
