Reno, Nev. - In game two against the Salt Lake Bees, the Reno Aces won by the score of 13-2. The Aces scored 13 runs on 16 hits and tallied eight extra-base hits. Offensively, the Aces were once again led by Yasmany Tomas who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, a double, and a home run. Starting pitcher Taylor Clarke picked up the win with 7.0 innings of two-run baseball. The right-hander allowed eight hits and added four strikeouts. The win improves the Aces to a record of 35-43 on the season, 11.5 games back of first place Fresno.

In tonight's game, the scoring opened up in the 2nd inning when Salt Lake scored on a Nolan Fontana RBI double. Reno didn't waste any time to respond. Kevin Cron hit an RBI double to center field scoring Socrates Brito. Three batters later, Yasmany Tomas hit his fourth home run of the season, extending the Aces lead to 4-1. In the fourth, Salt Lake tagged one run onto their total making the score 4-2. That's when the Aces offense took off. Reno would get that run back and more with a Tomas RBI double and an Ildemaro Vargas two-RBI single to left field building Reno's lead to 7-2. Clarke shut down the Salt Lake hitters through seven complete innings while striking out four Salt Lake batters. The win improving Clarke's record to 8-5 on the 2018 campaign. In the final four frames, the Aces would tack on six more runs giving them a comfortable 13-2 victory.

Clarke is Cookin': With the win tonight, right-hander Taylor Clarke improved to 8-5 on the season and 6-0 in his last six starts. Since May 1st, Clarke is 7-1 and has allowed 18 earned runs in 60.0 IP. He has recorded 58 strikeouts and allowed just 48 hits. Clarke is tied for second place in the Pacific Coast League with eight wins, trailing only Memphis starter Dakota Hudson who has 10.

Too MásPower: Yasmany Tomas hit his 54th career home run tonight. Tomas has recorded five of his 54 career home runs here in Reno, (1) 2015, (4) 2018. In the month of June, Tomas has hit two of his four this season, the first came in Memphis on June 6th and his second, tonight against Salt Lake. With the Diamondbacks, Tomas has recorded 48 homers and set a career-high in 2016 with 31.
