Salt Lake Bees News Release

Reno scored early and often, as the Aces rolled to a 13-2 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Tuesday night.

Salt Lake grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, as Ben Revere singled, took second on a balk and came home on a double by Nolan Fontana. Reno answered with four runs in the bottom of the second, three of those runs coming on a home run by Yasmany Tomas. Salt Lake would get one run back in the fourth, as Matt Thaiss doubled and scored on a triple by Dustin Ackley. After that, it was all Aces, as they scored three in the fourth, one in the sixth, four in the seventh and one in the eighth.

Salt Lake starter Griffin Canning (0-1) took the loss, as he went just three and two-third innings and allowed seven runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and two walks. Thaiss led the Bees with two hits, both of which were doubles, and one run scored, while Ackley added two hits, including a triple, and one run batted in. Jose Miguel Fernandez and Francisco Arcia each singled to stretch their respective hitting streaks to six games. Despite the loss, the Bees still lead the season series over Reno five game to two.
