Ottawa Lynx News Release
Scranton snapped the Lynx two-game win streak, topping the Lynx on Skratch's Birthday 2-0.
The loss drops the Lynx record to 33-45 while Scranton/WB improves to 42-38.
Lynx Players Of The Day: Danny Sandoval had two of the Lynx six hits as the Lynx were shut out 2-0 by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.
Game Recap: Scranton took the lead right from the top of the first inning, putting Ottawa in an early 1-0 hole. But Lynx starter Bubba Nelson settled down from there and held the Yankees to two runs over six innings. Their only other run came in the top of the fifth. But as good as Nelson was, his Scranton counterpart Chase Wright was even better, holding the Lynx completely off the board through seven innings. Both bullpens were perfect, as Fabio Castro and Yoel Hernandez combined for three shutout innings for the Lynx, while Yankees reliever Chris Britton threw two shutout frames of his own. When the dust settled on this pitcher's duel, the Lynx came out on the short end of a 2-0 decision.
Next Game: The Lynx host the Yankees in the second game of their four-game series Sunday afternoon at Lynx Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 pm.
Probable Pitchers: Sunday vs. Scranton/WB, 1:05 pm: Ottawa LHP Eude Brito (1-4, 7.86) takes on Scranton/WB RHP Matt DeSalvo (51, 1.69).
Fans can venture up to the Upper Deck Sports Bar on the third floor of Lynx Stadium. The Upper Deck features nightly food specials and 30-cent chicken wings available after each Lynx home game!
