June 30, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release
OTTAWA - Kurt Stoodley from A-Channel Morning will have to play ketchup, or catch-up, as a late entry in the Ottawa Lynx Media Hot Dog Eating Contest.
The Lynx announced Thursday that The Ottawa Citizen's Ric Davey, Jacqui Delaney from 106.9 The Bear, Rogers Television 22's Tony House, Terry Marcotte from CTV Ottawa and Hot 89.9's Mauler will compete to see who can eat the most hot dogs as part of the Lynx 25-Cent Hot Dog Night July 3rd.
"When I saw who had signed up for this contest, I knew I could win," said Stoodley. "Now I can enjoy some hot dogs at the ballpark and raise some money for a great charity, too."
Stoodley will be eating on behalf of The Boys and Girls Club.
Eaters will compete on behalf of their favourite charities to see who can eat the most hot dogs. Eating will begin in the middle of the first inning and runs until the middle of the 6th inning.
Donations buckets will be placed at the table. Fans can come over and cheer for not only their favourite contestant but also their favourite charities by dropping donations into the bucket. Eaters will also bring items for a silent auction, which will take place during the eating period. All the money donated in the buckets and through the silent auction will go directly to the eaters' charities. The big wiener will be crowned in the bottom of the 7th inning.
This is the first season the Lynx are the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Lynx Box Office is Open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. Ticket information can be found at www.ottawalynx.com or by calling 613 747-LYNX (5969).
