FLORENCE, KY - The Florence Y'alls (21-30), presented by Towne Properties, hung close with the New York Boulders (29-20) during Sunday's series finale, but eventually fell 6-3 and suffered their 11th consecutive loss.

After a scoreless first, New York got on the board in the second. Designated hitter Thomas Walraven hit a leadoff ground-rule double and eventually scored on a two-out double from catcher Jimmy Costin. The Y'alls scored a run of their own in the home half. Right fielder Harrison DiNicola led off with a single, then scored on a two-out base hit off the bat of center fielder Cole Brannen. After two innings, the Y'alls and Boulders were tied 1-1.

Neither team would score until the fifth when the Y'alls grabbed their first lead of the game. Second baseman Tristin Garcia led off with a single and moved to third on a two-base error on New York right fielder Giovanni Garbella. Three batters later, first baseman Craig Massey hit a ground ball to second that Boulders second baseman Tucker Nathans misplayed, allowing Massey to reach. The run-scoring error brought Garcia in and gave the Y'alls a 2-1 lead.

The Boulders came back with two runs in the sixth to regain the lead. Tucker Nathans singled to lead off the inning before left fielder David Vinsky hit a one-out, run-scoring triple against Florence starter Jake McMahill (6.2 IP, 11 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 6 K). With Vinsky at third and one out, third baseman Chris Kwitzer hit a ground ball to score the go-ahead run from third. After six, the Boulders led 3-2. New York tacked on two more in the seventh when Nathans hit a two-run home run to increase the lead to 5-2. The Y'alls would not recover and eventually fell 6-3 to clinch their 11th straight defeat.

The Y'alls now head into the All-Star Break with four All-Star representatives set to play in the All-Star Game at Ozinga Field in Crestwood, IL on July 12th. After the break, Florence starts its second half with a three-game home series versus Washington. The Y'alls and Wild Things play Game 1 of that series on Friday, July 14th at 7:03 p.m. ET.

The Florence Y'alls are Northern Kentucky's professional baseball team, and are proud members of the independent Frontier League, an MLB Partner League.
