X's Nick Schumacher Named AA Pitcher of the Week

DURHAM, NC - Pointstreak, the official statistician of the American Association, has selected Gary SouthShore RailCats OF Cristian Guerrero and Sioux City Explorers RHP Nick Schumacher as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.

Guerrero posted a .478 batting average in six games. He hit four home runs to go along with 16 RBIs, 11 hits and six runs scored. He also had a .586 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of 1.130. In the 11-4 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs Thursday, Guerrero went 3-for-5 with a home run and six runs driven in. On the season, the New Castle, DE resident is hitting .328 with seven home runs and 44 RBIs.

Schumacher did not give up an earned run in 14 2/3 innings pitched. He allowed eight hits and four walks while fanning 16 batters. In the 13-1 win over Fargo-Moorhead Sunday, the resident of Antelope, CA went 7 2/3 strong innings giving up only one walk and two hits and struck out 11 hitters. Schumacher is currently 4-4 on the year with an earned run average of 2.73. He is fifth in the American Association in strikeouts (49) and earned run average.

The X's will host the Fargo Moorhead Red hawks tonight for game three of the scheduled four game series with the X's taking the first two games of the series. Make sure to head out to Lewis & Clark Park tonight as there will be fantastic fireworks extravaganza following tonight's game and the series finale will take place tomorrow, July 5th. Game time for both games will be 7:05 PM.
