
T-Bones Comeback on Wingnuts

KANSAS CITY, KS- The Wichita Wingnuts lost 6-3 to the Kansas City T-Bones at Community America Ballpark on Monday night.
The T-Bones overcame an early 3-0 Wingnuts' lead, scoring six unanswered runs. With two on and two-out in the bottom of the third, Ray Sadler hit a three-run home run to left-center field that tied the game against Wingnuts' starter Chad Sherman.
With two outs and no one on base in the fourth, Jimmy Mojica doubled down the left field line and scored the go-ahead run when Aharon Eggleston singled up the middle.
Eggleston drove in the T-Bones' fifth run of the night with a bouncing ball single in the bottom of the sixth. Prentice Redman homered down the left field line in the bottom of the seventh for the final run of the game.
Andy Shipman earned the save for Kansas City with a perfect top of the ninth.
The Wingunts scored three runs in the top of the second to take an early 3-0 lead. Jorge Delgado and Josh Workman reached on back-to-back singles with one out. Edwin Bellorin followed with a line drive single to right that scored Delgado from second base. Josh Horn grounded out to the mound, advancing Workman to third and Bellorin to second with two outs. Jose Duran finished the rally with a single to shallow right that cashed in two more runs.
Devin Anderson earned the win for Kansas City, allowing three earned runs in six-plus innings. Anderson walked three and struck out six.
Sherman took the loss, allowing four earned runs in four-plus innings. Sherman walked three and struck out four.
Brandon Mathes struck out four batters during one and one-third innings of relief. Kendy Batista threw a scoreless relief inning in the bottom of the eighth.
Juan Richardson extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a double in the top of the eighth.
