X'S DROP 5-2 DECISION TO FARGO

Sioux City Explorers News Release
Fargo, ND-----For the second straight game, the Explorers came up on the short end, losing Wednesday 5-2 to Fargo/Moorhead.
After losing 14-5 in the first game of the series Tuesday, the Explorers couldn't generate enough offense Wednesday against the RedHawks as the X's stranded ten base runners, including leaving the bases loaded in the ninth.
One of the bright spots for the Explorers was a two-run home run by Ray Serrano in the eighth inning that provided the only two runs for Sioux City. Mike Murphy extended his hitting streak to eight games with two hits while righthander Ty Martoz pitched a complete game, but was charged with the loss.
The loss by the Explorers coupled with a win by Lincoln pushed Sioux City to fourth place in the Central Division and the wild card race in the American Association. The final game of the series with the RedHawks will be Thursday at 12:30 with the contest a taped delayed broadcast on KSCJ starting at 6:35pm.
After the game on today in Fargo, the Explorers will return home for a three-game series with Sioux Falls starting Friday at Lewis and Clark Park. Reserve your seats for all three games this weekend by calling 712-277-9467 or stopping down to the stadium box office at Lewis & Clark Park.
