X's Continue to Roll, Win Fifth Straight

Kansas City-----The Explorers defeated Kansas City here Tuesday 7-2, winning their fifth straight, the longest winning streak of the season.

The victory also pushed the X's two games over the .500 mark, the best the Explorers have had all season. With the game tied at 1-1 in the fourth inning, Sioux City sent ten batters to the plate, scoring four runs to take a 5-1 lead and never looked back. Brett Flowers, who had three hits in the game, drove in the first run while Ryan Priddy, Dustin Jones and Kent Sakamoto had the other RBI's in the inning. Flowers was joined by Wally Backman, Jr. with three hits as the Explorers finished the game with 14 hits. Jason Jarvis pitched seven innings, allowing just four hits and one earned run, picked up the win.

With the win over the T-Bones, the Explorers have won all four games this season from Kansas City. The second game of the three-game series will be Wednesday at Community America Ballpark with game time set for 7:05.
