WWE Legend Comes to the Corn Crib

NORMAL, Ill. - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, welcome WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter to The Corn Crib for Wrestling Night on Friday, June 3rd.

Sgt. Slaughter is one of the most recognizable names in the history of WWE, entering the wrestling world in 1974. His debut in the WWE in 1980 incorporated his background as a U.S. Marine veteran and an All-American attitude.

"Sarge" was matching up with legends like Pedro Morales, Andre The Giant, and Hulk Hogan in his tenure in the wrestling world. After of two decades in both the WWE and the AWA, Sgt. Slaughter retired from competition. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004. He now works as an ambassador for WWE and still travels with his All-American attire.

Sgt. Slaughter will join the CornBelters as they host Wrestling Night at The Corn Crib this Friday when the take on the Windy City Thunderbolts at 6:35 p.m. The Hall of Famer will throw out the first pitch and will allot time for autographs and photos on location. There will also be postgame fireworks brought to you by CEFCU. Tickets can be purchased at the Mid-Illini Credit Union Box Office at The Corn Crib during business hours or at (309) 454-2255 (BALL).

THE NIBLET: Sgt. Slaughter is just one of the promotional nights the CornBelters are hosting this week. Thursday, June 2nd will be another Budweiser Thirst Quenching Thursday. Saturday, June 4th will be Princess and Superhero Night, along with the annual Girl Scout Camp Out.
