Kilome: Allowed 2 R on 6 H over 5.0 IP in 5/08 Loss @ KAN w/ 6 K and 2 BB (3-2 Intimidators)
KAPOW: West Virginia lost 2-1 on Saturday in a walk-off at Lakewood. Harold Arauz held the Power to four hits over seven shut out innings while Dario Agrazal surrendered just one run on six hit over seven frames. The BlueClaws broke up the dueling shutouts in the fourth with a run-scoring single by Jose Pujols. In the top of the ninth, Cole Tucker hit a solo home run to tie the game. In the home half of the inning, Daniel Zamora walked Josh Tobias and a sac bunt moved Tobias to second. With two down, Damek Tomscha singled to shallow right to plate Tobias for the win. Zamora took the loss and Robert Tasin picked up the win after blowing the save in the top of the ninth inning. Carlos Munoz had the only multi-hit game for the Power.
WHAMM: Both West Virginia and Lakewood will wear superhero jerseys today. The Power will don Batman-inspired jerseys while the BlueClaws will wear Superman-themed tops. The clubs will wear the uniforms in Charleston on May 31 and then each team will auction their respective jerseys to raise money for charity.
CLANK: The Power went 15-7 in April with a .238 average and a staff ERA of 2.56. After 22 games, West Virginia was a half game back in the division. Through 11 games this month, West Virginia is 3-9 with a league-low .207 batting average and a 4.02 earned run average and now sits in fourth, five and a half games out of first.
WHACK: Cole Tucker's ninth inning home run was his first this season and first since June 4, 2015, before the shortstop's shoulder surgery. All five of Tucker's professional home runs have been hit on the road, regardless of what team of league he has played in.
WHIFF: Mitch Keller has 42 strikeouts over his first six South Atlantic League starts spanning 34 innings.. Through six starts in 2013, Tyler Glasnow had struck out 33 batters in 25 innings. Glasnow would go on to strike out 164 batters, a Power franchise record, over 24 starts and 111.1 innings.
ZOOM: West Virginia and Lakewood meet for 11 more games this season. West Virginia leads the all-time series 91-75 and have a 37-34 record at FirstEnergy Park. The Power and BlueClaws will play a three game series in Charleston May 30- June 1 and then meet for a series in July and again in August.
ZOK: Tanner Anderson's five relief innings on Friday was the longest appearance by a Power reliever this season, surpassing Julio Vivas's four and a third on April 19 against Kannapolis. It was also the longest outing of Anderson's professional career, surpassing a four-inning effort against Rome on April 26. Prior to this season, Anderson had not worked more than three innings over his first 15 games.
SPLAT: West Virginia has a league-low five saves this season. Lakewood has seven saves, including six by Robert Tasin. Six teams in the league have at least 10 saves this season.
KER-PLOP: The next former Power player to reach the Majors will be the 50th to do so in franchise history... Tito No Power players has a current hitting streak longer than catcher John Bormann's five game run. Bormann's 10 game on-base streak is also the longest current streak on the roster... Cesilio Pimentel was activated from the Power Disabled List on Thursday. The southpaw missed a month with a left forearm strain. Julio Vivas was transferred to Extended Spring Training to clear a roster spot for Pimentel on Thursday.
KRUNCH: Pittsburgh fell 8-2 to Jake Arrieta and the Chicago Cubs. The ace held the Buccos to two runs on three hits over eight innings... Indianapolis lost 3-2 at Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre despite 11 strikeouts by Jameson Tallion ... Altoona rallied in the ninth again to beat Richmond 7-6. The Curve scored six in the top of the ninth for the win... Bradenton was bested 2-1 by Palm Beach.
BANG: On May 21, the Power host the Hickory Crawdads on Armed Forces Night. Any active or retired member of the military will receive a free ticket and their immediate family members are offered a discounted ticket price.
