THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia beat Greensboro 6-3 on Wednesday night in walk-off fashion. The Power took a 1-0 lead in the first, but the Grasshoppers led 2-1 after five innings. With two outs and two aboard, Eric Wood drove the first pitch of his at bat over the left-center wall for a 6-3 walk-off win. Jason Creasy notched the win with one shutout inning of relief. The Power pinned a blown save and a loss on Blake Logan. Herrera and Wood had three hits apiece to pace the offense.

WALK AWAY HAPPY: Wednesday evening's walk-off was the third game this season to end in the last at bat. The Power's first win of 2013 came on a Stetson Allie solo home run to beat Asheville on April 11. West Virginia also lost 3-2 to Savannah this past Sunday afternoon on a walk-off single.

HERE COME THE HOP STEPPERS: West Virginia and Greensboro will play the second of their three-game series tonight. The Power lead the all-time series with 63 wins and 42 losses, though the Grasshoppers won the 2012 series 8-6. The teams will meet a total of 13 times this season, nine of which will be played in Charleston.

Jose Osuna holds the single month record with nine during July of last season.

BRINGING THEM HOME: Josh Bell drove in 28 runs during April, matching the third highest tally in any single month in Power history. Gregory Polanco drove in 30 in July of 2012 to set a new record, surpassing the previous record of 29 set by Mat Gamel in May of 2006. Bell has matched Stefan Wilson (June 2008) and Angel Salome (May 2006) for the third most runs batted in during a single month in Power history. Bell's 28 runs batted in matched Fresno's Brett Pill for the most by any player regardless of level during the month of April.
