Legends Get Past Delmarva in 10, 3-2

(SALISBURY, Md.) The Lexington Legends rallied with a run in the ninth inning to tie the game, and then pushed across a run in the 10th to win 3-2 over the Delmarva Shorebirds Thursday night. .

The Legends trailed 2-1 in the ninth when Michael Antonio led off with an infield single. Jin-Ho Shin sacrificed pinch runner Yowill Espinal to second, from where he scored on a single by Humberto Arteaga.

In the 10th, a single by Ethan Chapman, and bunt hits by Terrance Gore and Raul Mondesi loaded the bases with no outs.

A wild pitch by Delmarva reliever Jose Nivar allowed Chapman to score the go-ahead run.

Delmarva took a 2-0 lead in the third inning. With one out, Greg Lorenzo bunted for a hit, stole second and scored on a double by Tucker Nathans. After Joel Hutter walked, Christian Walker's single scored Nathans with the second run.

The Legends scored a run in the top of the fourth on singles by Bubba Starling and Antonio, and a wild pitch.

There was no more scoring until the ninth.

Legends reliever Cory Hall (1-1), who worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the eighth, got the win. Nivar (0-2) took the loss.

The Legends have taken the first two games of the series, which concludes Friday. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
