Today's Preview: Starter Myles Jaye takes the ball and tries to stop a season-long 5-game losing skid as the Intimidators (A, White Sox) look to even the series against the Sand Gnats (A, Mets) in the second game of a 3-game set. Kannapolis has lost 11 of 14 since starting the season 7-4 and has dropped to sixth in the SAL Northern Division, 4.0 games behind Hickory and Hagerstown (14-11). Jaye has been the Intimidators most consistent starter this season, and the Gnats are countering with Gabriel Ynoa, who is coming off his second straight quality start. Kannapolis owns the all-time series, 72-48 (.600) the best winning percentage by the Intimidators against any active SAL franchise.

Roste r Move: The Intimidators promoted infielder Rangel Ravelo to Class A-Advanced Winston-Salem today, receiving infielder Brett Tanner from the Dash. Catcher Michael Marjama was also placed on the DL.

Intimidating Starter: Myles Jaye, 21, makes his team-leading sixth start of the season and fourth on the road, where he is 2-0 with a 1.06 ERA (2 ER/17 IP). He ranks second in the SAL with a 0.90 ERA - ninth in the Minors - and third in innings pitched (30.0). He leads the Sox organization in ERA and is third in the system with 25 strikeouts. He earned a win in each of his first three starts and has left all five starts in line for a win. Jaye pitched a career-long 8.0 innings of scoreless ball against Hickory on April 14. The White Sox acquired Jaye in a Jan. 1, 2012, trade with Toronto along with fellow pospect P Daniel Webb for Major Leaguer P Jason Frasor. Last season, Jaye started 17 games for Kannapolis.

Savannah's Starter: Gabrial Ynoa, who turns 20 this month, makes his fifth start of the season and third at home. He earned a win over Delmarva in his last start, holding the Shorebirds to a run on three hits over 6 1/3 innings, striking out six, on April 25. He is holding opposing hitters to a .213 average.

About Last Night: Kevin Plawecki went 3-for-5 with three doubles as the Gnats overcame an early 2-0 deficit to top Kannapolis, 6-3, in the series opener. Micah Johnson led off the game game with a base hit and Ruben Sierra Jr. followed with a double. Both men went on to score and both finished the game 2-for-4. Gnats starter Matthew Bowman worked eight innings to notch the win while Jefferson Olacio endured his fourth loss, tying for most in the SAL.

Micah Moving: Leadoff man Micah Johnson swiped third base in Wednesday's loss at Savannah, the eighth time he's stolen third in nine attempts this season. The former Indiana Hoosier has now stolen 21 bases this season, leading all Minor League Baseball, five ahead of the next closest player (Burlington's Kyle Johnson). He leads the South Atlantic League with four triples and is tied for second with 21 runs scored, just behind Savannah's Brandon Nimmo (22).

SAV-vy Hitter: Savannah's Kevin Plawecki collected three doubles on Wednesday, going 3-5 at the plate to raise his average to a SAL-best .402 (37-92). He also leads the league in hits, doubles (15), extra-base hits (19), slugging percentage (.696), ranks second in total bases (64) and on-base percentage (.462) and fourth in RBI (21).

Another SAV-vy Hitter: Gnats first baseman Jayce Boyd ranks second in the league with a .375 average (36-96). He leads the SAL in on-base percentage (.465), ranks second in hits, third in RBI (23) and fifth in total bases (51).
