SHUTDOWN SUNDAY: The Power were shutout for the sixth time this season, losing 8-0 on Sunday to the Hickory Crawdads. The ‘Dads scored seven of their eight runs off home runs by Christian Santana, Michael Ortiz, and Joe Bonadonna. Kyle McPherson took the loss, while Neil Ramirez picked up the win. West Virginia was limited to four hits in a loss that matched their largest defeat of the year.

JOSUE HAS GONE AWAY: The Pittsburgh Pirates traded Josue Peley to Boston after Sunday's game. Peley was selected by the Pirates in the 35th round of the 2006 draft and had been a member of the Power roster from the outset of the 2009 season. The catcher was hitting .179 this season over 19 games with six runs batted in. West Virginia went 11-8 with Peley behind the plate this season. Pittsburgh reacquired outfielder Jonathan Van Every from Boston and assigned him to Indianapolis.

ADDITION BY SUBTRACTION: Pittsburgh has promoted Pat Irvine to the West Virginia roster to fill the spot vacated by the Josue Peley deal. Irvine was selected in the 33rd round of the 2009 draft from Elon University. The catcher/ outfielder hit .245 over 66 games last year for State College with three home runs and 41 runs batted in.

WALK THIS WAY: Evan Chambers leads the SAL with 39 walks, four more than Delmarva's Brian Conley. Chambers is also among the leaders across all of Minor League Baseball. The Lakeland, Florida native is tied for third place, trailing leader Niko Vasquez from Quad Cities by seven free passes.

LEADING BASEBALL: West Virginia has hit into 16 double plays this season, the fewest amount of any team in full-season, affiliated baseball. The next lowest total across all of baseball Beloit in the Midwest League with 20. The lowest tally among Major League teams is 21 by the San Diego Padres, while the lowest mark in the American League is 28 by Toronto and Tampa Bay.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING: Friday night's loss was the first this season by the Power when scoring five or more runs in a game this season. The club was 16-0 prior to Friday when scoring five or more, while going 6-25 when scoring four or less. The loss also represented the first time that West Virginia lost a game when leading after six innings (15-1), seven (18-1), and eight (17-1).

POWER POINTS: The Power were shutout for the sixth time this season on Sunday, surpassing their 2009 season-long total of five... Wednesday's crowd of 4,601 was the largest of the season, surpassing Tuesday's previous high. The Power drew 8,636 during their two Grand Slam School Days this week... West Virginia is 6-1 in games played on Saturday this season... The Power are now 2-2 in charity jersey this season after Friday's loss in the ASPEN-inspired tops.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 5-2 at Atlanta... Indianapolis slipped past Charlotte in 13 innings by a 3-2 final... Altoona beat Reading 5-2. All five Curve runs scored in the sixth inning... Bradenton fell 14-5 at home against Tampa.
