THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia failed to secure a winning record on the road trip after a 10-5 loss on Wednesday morning at CMC-Northeast Stadium in Kannapolis. Trailing 1-0 entering the third, Cole Tucker lifted a sacrifice fly to plate Jeff Roy and tie it up at one, but Kannapolis responded with a three-run blast in their half of the inning and never looked back. Alex McRae struggled in his second start of the season after he lasted just three innings and surrendered four runs on six hits and earned the first loss of his South Atlantic League career.
CENTURY MARK: West Virginia's win Saturday night in Lexington was the club's 100th all-time in the series against the Legends. The Power have played the Legends more than any other team since the start of the 2005 season and now hold a 100-96 series advantage. West Virginia and Lexington meet a total of 16 times this season including the five-game, four day series this weekend. After the weekend games, the Power will not see the Royals' Class-A affiliate until mid August in Kentucky.
HOME SWEET HOME: West Virginia returns home after a 3-3 record on the road trip. Offensively, the bats continued to produce by putting up a .275 clip through the six games. However, the pitching staff held an ERA of 5.17 during the road trip and, as a whole, holds a 4.23 ERA in the 2015 season, the second highest in the South Atlantic League. At home this season, the Power are 4-2 and the pitching staff owns a 3.40 ERA in the six games.
STREAK HALTED: Chase Simpson's on-base streak was stopped at 11 games with an 0-for-4 performance in Kannapolis on Wednesday morning. Currently, the 11-game on base streak stands as the second-longest in the South Atlantic League in 2015. Simpson has played in each Power game this season and has an on-base percentage of .422, the highest among all qualifying batters on the Power roster.
MáS DOUBLEHEADERS: After having six doubleheaders in all of 2014, the Power are playing their third scheduled twinbill this evening against Lexington. The Power are 1-2 so far in doubleheaders this season. On April 15, the Power lost game one of the doubleheader 1-0 but had the second game suspended due to rain. The last doubleheader the Power played was on Tuesday when they split the two games against Kannapolis, taking game one 5-3 and dropping the second match-up 2-1.
SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY: The Power aim to continue their early success against teams from the Southern Division. Five of West Virginia's seven victories in 2015 have been against teams out of the division including a pair of wins against Lexington on the last road trip. The other three victories came against the Savannah Sand Gnats to open the season.
POWER PROMO UPDATE- APRIL 25: The West Virginia Power will honor the 1990 Charleston Wheelers, the only team to bring a South Atlantic League title to Charleston. The entire team will be inducted onto the Charleston Baseball Wall of Fame and the first 1,000 fans will receive a commemorative t-shirt celebrating the 25th anniversary of the championship.

Francisco Diaz was placed on the Power DL Wednesday and Kawika Emsley-Pai was promoted from the WV Black Bears roster... The suspended game against Hagerstown from April 15 will be resumed on April 28 in Hagerstown...Cole Tucker and Jerrick Suiter are each riding five-game hit streaks while Elvis Escobar has hit safely in four straight and holds the longest active on-base streak at eight games.
