Alaska Aces News Release

WICHITA, KANSAS - Alaska Aces defenseman William Wrenn is on his way to Utica, New York after recieving a call-up from the AHL club.

Aces Coach and President of Hockey Operations Rob Murray made the announcement Thursday in Wichita, Kansas, where Alaska just finished a two-game series.

The 25 year old Wrenn has been a mainstay of the Aces defense this season. His 37 assists place him tops among all ECHL defensemen, and his 41 total points have him tied for second.

"With the kind of season William is having, I'm surprised he hasn't recieved a call-up earlier," said Murray. "With his previous AHL experience and his success this season, he should have the confidence to do well this time around".

Wrenn previously played in the AHL with Worchester and Texas. In 93 AHL games, Wrenn has 5 goals and 12 assists for 17 points.

Utica is currently in 7th place in the Eastern Conference of the AHL, four points behind 6th place Bridgeport and 3 points ahead of 8th place Syracuse. The Comets have 12 games remaining in the regular season.

Alaska, meanwhile, finishes a brief 3-game road trip at Allen, Texas Friday night.

The Aces return to the Sullivan Arena ice on Thursday, March 27 against Rapid City.
