
Wranglers Hold Off Reign, 2-1

Ontario, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers© (15-14-3, 33 Points) defeated the Ontario Reign (13-17-5, 31 Points) 2-1 in front of 4,072 fans Wednesday night at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. Forwards Ned Lukacevic and Chris Neiszner tallied power-play goals in the Wranglers sixth straight win. Goalie Michael Ouzas stopped 26 shots to improve to 12-11-2 this season. Center Robert Pearce scored the lone Reign goal. Ontario goalie Curtis Darling stopped 13 of 15 shots in the loss. The Wranglers will host the Ontario Reign on Friday, January 8th, at 7:05 p.m. at the Orleans Arena.
After a scoreless first period, the Wranglers tallied the first goal with a power-play marker from left wing Ned Lukacevic. At 8:07, defenseman Craig Switzer set up Lukacevic for his tenth goal on the season to give Las Vegas the 1-0 lead on the road. Only 1:30 later, Las Vegas cashed in on another power-play opportunity with a goal from Captain Chris Neiszner. Lukacevic and defenseman Jason Krischuk set up Neiszner's fifth goal on the year to pad the Wranglers lead to 2-0. Ontario chipped into the Wranglers lead at 13:17 with a tally from center Robert Pearce. Forwards Chris Curran and Michael Pelech set up Pearce's third goal on the season to trim the score to 2-1.
Las Vegas held off the Reign in the third period, to pick up the 2-1 win and their sixth consecutive victory.
