
Wranglers Aced by Alaska, 5-3

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers fell 5-3 to the Alaska Aces on Tuesday night in front of 3,974 fans. The Aces line of Scott Gomez, Mike Scott, and Joe Talbot combined for 12 points on the evening to lead Alaska to a 5-4-1 record. Dan Tudin scored twice for Las Vegas and Rejean Stringer recorded three assists in the Wranglers loss. Las Vegas will host the Victoria Salmon Kings at 7:05 pm on Friday night at the Orleans Arena.
The Aces brought to town with them NHL All-Star Scott Gomez, who did not disappoint scoring his first goal of the season just 3:44 in to the first period. Gomez also got help from line-mates Joe Talbot and Mike Scott who combined for ten points in the game. The Wranglers were led on the night by forward Dan Tudin scoring two goals in the contest. The Aces were paced with breakout games from Joe Talbot with a goal and four assists, and Mike Scott also with a goal and four assists.
The first period started quickly with Alaska center Scott Gomez notching a goal at 3:44 of the first period to give the Aces a 1-0 lead. The Aces made it a 2-0 lead just two minutes later as Olivier Filion scored at 5:53. The Wranglers cut the deficit in half with just 2:00 remaining in the first as Dan Tudin tallied his first of two goals on the evening. The Aces answered back just thirty-eight seconds later on a goal by Mike Scott, set up by Gomez for the 3-1 lead.
The Wranglers started the second period with a goal by Darren Lynch at 4:33. Lou Mass again answered for the Aces scoring his only goal of the night at 6:09. Wranglers' winger Dan Tudin scored his second goal of the night just 22 seconds later trimming the Alaska lead to 4-3 after two periods of play.
The Aces sealed their victory late in the third period with an empty net goal by Joe Talbot at 18:41. Talbot finished the night with one goal and for assists, as did line-mate Mike Scott.
The Wranglers will giveaway Rally Bangers too fans in attendance on Friday night.
