WAUSAU - The Wisconsin Woodchucks were defeated on Friday night as Greg Walsh would only surrender one hit for the Madison Mallards who won 2-0.The only runs in the game would not until the bottom of the fourth inning as Erik Forgione would score on a ground out to second base from Mike Ruevekamp for the Mallards. Forgione would advance to third thanks to a double in the right field gap from Geonte Jackson earlier in the inning. Jackson would then come into score after John LaPrise would hit an infield single to the second base giving the Mallards a 2-0 lead which would be all that they would need for tonight's game.The win for tonight's game would be awarded to Mallards' starting pitcher Greg Walsh as he would give up just one hit in tonight's contest while striking out seven batters. It would Walsh's four victory of the season. The save would be awarded to Hunter may as he struck out two batters in the ninth as he now has totaled seven saves on the year.The loss would be awarded to Austin Orewiler who drops to 0-5 on the season. Tough loss for Orewiler as he would pitch four innings giving up the only two runs scored in the game while striking out five batters.The Woodchucks return to Athletic Park tomorrow night as the Eau Claire Express comes to Wausau to start a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 with the gates opening at 5:35. Fans are invited to stay after the game as there will be Post-Game Fireworks.
