
Woodchucks Bats Go Quiet in Loss to Kingfish

Wausau, WIS - The Woodchucks came into tonight's game looking to get back in the win column as they hosted the Kenosha Kingfish. With the Chucks down 1-0 in the bottom of the 4th, Catcher Javier Valdes launched his second home run of the season over the left field wall to tie things up at 1-1.
Chucks starting pitcher Bent Headrick pitched a great ballgame going 5 and 2/3 allowing just one run striking out seven keeping the game tied.
The Kingfish added two runs in the top of the 7thto take a 3-1 lead and got an insurance run in the top of the 8thwith a solo shot from Evan McDonald.
The Chucks threatened in the bottom of the 9thgetting the first two runners on base but fell short of a late comeback and fell to the Kingfish 4-1.
Top Performers
Chucks catcher Javier Valdes continued to showcase his power added his second home run of the season in the bottom of the 4thand also added a single in the 9th.
Chucks starter Brent Headrick continued to pitch well giving the team a spark with seven punch outs giving up only one run.
Chucks shortstop Tommy Duddleston and centerfielder Payton Nelson made incredible defensive plays tonight to keep the game within reach.
