Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves have signed defenseman JOE CORVO, who becomes the third Chicago-area native on the team¹s current roster.
Corvo spent all of last season and part of the 2002-03 season with the National Hockey League¹s Los Angeles Kings, registering 13 goals, 24 assists, 37 points and 50 penalty minutes in 122 games.
The 27-year-old blueliner has also played parts of four seasons in the American Hockey League with the Springfield Falcons (1998-99), Lowell Lock Monsters (2000-02) and Manchester Monarchs (2001-2003) accruing 36 goals, 93 assists, 129 points and 101 penalty minutes in 233 games.
Los Angeles' fourth-round draft pick (83rd overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft missed the entire 1999-2000 season after failing to come to contract terms with the Kings. Corvo is scheduled to suit up when the Wolves host the Utah Grizzlies on Sat., Feb. 26, at 7 p.m.
