CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Zenon Konopka scoed a pair of power-play goals and Frederic Cassivi stopped 25 shots as the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks beat the Philadelphia Phantoms, 5-0, Wednesday at Cincinnati Gardens.
Mark Popovic, Tim Brent and Dustin Penner also scored for the Ducks, who won their third straight game and improved to 13-1-0-1 in their last 15 at home.
Cassivi turned aside 11 shots in the first period, seven shots in the second period and seven more in the third en route to his third straight shutout and sixth of the season, tying a franchise record. The Ducks improved to five games above .500 (29-24-1-3) for the first time since 2001-02 with the win.
Antero Niittymaki surrendered four goals on 24 shots before being pulled in favor of Neil Little in the second period for Philadelphia, which snapped its four-game winning streak. The loss also ended a five-game road winning streak for the Phantoms, who lost for the first time in their last seven games (5-1-1) at Cincinnati Gardens dating back to October 13, 2001.
The Ducks six-game homestand continues Friday when they face Houston at 7:35 p.m. at Cincinnati Gardens.
